Kanyakumari TourKanyakumari is an important pilgrim spot located on the southernmost tip of India. The Kumari Amman temple which is a major attraction of Kanyakumari tour is dedicated to Parvati who is worshipped here in the form of the virgin goddess who did penance to obtain Lord Shiva's hand. Two rocks reach out of the ocean, south-east of the Kumari Amman temple. One of these is Sri Padaparai, believed to be the footprints of the goddess. On this rock, Swami Vivekananda once sat in deep meditation; the Vivekananda Rock Memorial was built here in 1970.

During your Kanyakumari tour you will find that nature too is at her spectacular best in Kanyakumari; in fact, several well known Indian beaches pale in comparison to this picturesque jewel. Cape Comorin is at its best during Chitra Pournami (full moon day in April) when the sun and moon are face to face on the horizon; other full moon days too are special when one can see the sun set and the moon rise almost simultaneously, in concert. Surrounded by majestic hills and plains fringed with colourful sea-shores, coconut trees and paddy fields, closely interwoven temples and churches, Kanyakumari is a magical delight.
